Chocolate Pound Cake
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Crisco
3 Cups Sugar
5 Eggs, one at a time
3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
5 ½ Cups Cocoa
½ Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
2 ½ Cups Sweet Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Flavoring
Baking Instructions:
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes
My mom was born in the small town of McRae, Georgia. She met my dad at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store, where she got her first job. This is beautiful. Written on the back of an envelope? I think it is so interesting that there is as much butter as Crisco. Times have changed and sometimes, this is a good thing, perhaps.
