Detail, Detail, Detail… this is real. The inclusion of real restaurants and chefs, like Noma's Ren Redzepi and Daniel's Daniel Boulud, adds authenticity to the show and showcases Carmy's culinary skills. And this is not easy! If you cooked alongside a Michelin-star chef like I did, it is intense! I had the pleasure of cooking alongside Chef Matt Baker of Gravitas for our series James Bell Kitchen Table. The chef actually threw my food across the room and made me start again and do it properly. I was sweating!

The show grabs us by the throat, makes us watch every tiny detail. It makes us feel empathy, joy, and sometimes loss for the main character. Its a classic combination of love vs hate, good vs. evil, and often, our underdog chef is beaten by the hard lessons of life in a kitchen restaurant in America. Its a hard life and a thrill to watch.
